Winter Wellness
As we all know it’s getting to that seasonal depression time of year. SO.. here’s some tips on how to maybe possibly combat that!
Tip 1- Vitamin D: Listen, I know that everyone says “go outside blah blah blah” but it’s SERIOUSLY proven to reduce stress and promote smiles. Research says “approximately 5–30 minutes of sun exposure, particularly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., either daily or at least twice a week to the face, arms, hands, and legs without sunscreen usually leads to sufficient vitamin D synthesis”. So go outside, it helps.
Tip 2- Meditation: Clearing your mind and focusing on being grounded can help bring you back to your body. It’s like when you do a factory reset on your phone. Take some time to do deep breathing, put on a sound bath (or go to one), and just be with yourself.
Tip 3- Connect with others: Social connections are important for both mental and physical health, as they can help reduce stress and improve overall well-being.
Tip 4- Get Active: Watching what you put into your body and how much activity you get are important for keeping your body working properly. Getting active with friends can hit two birds with one stone too!
Tip 5- Be true to yourself and being in therapy: Being true to yourself can play such a huge factor in your mental wellbeing. Hiding who you really are is so detrimental to your body and mind. Once you’re in a safe space to be able to be who you are, you should do it. It will be a weight off of your shoulders. In tandem with that, be in therapy! Therapy is so necessary.
That’s all for now. Thanks for tuning in.
