Beauty Brands to Watch

Nowadays I always hear so many things about new “clean” beauty brands and all sorts of things like that. So I wanted to clarify some clean beauty brands that are actually good for you and some that are just green-washing.

First and foremost - R+Co. which is the brand that we personally use at the salon. This brand is truly clean, R+co is cruelty free, vegan, and free of mineral oils, petroleum, parabens and sulfates. All of their formulas are color-safe, heat and UV protective, and gluten-free. They are also introducing post-consumer resource (PCR) packaging to reduce their carbon footprint.

Secondly, Davines. Davines is B-Corp certified, cruelty free, and vegan. They have committed to net-zero emissions by 2050 and they have had a carbon-neutral facility since 2018. Davines is a truly sustainable brand with clean products that are good for your hair. To learn more about the Davines sustainability mission, visit their website.

Lastly, Amika. Amika is formulated without sulfates, phthalates, mineral oils, parabens, and more. They are cruelty free and use over 90% post consumer produced packaging, all of which is 100% recyclable. Amika also pledges to be net-zero by 2030.

Next time you’re looking for a new shampoo, conditioner, mask, or styling products, look here first. While there are many many other wonderful clean haircare brands these are my favorite.

Now here is a list of a couple brands that CLAIM to be clean but definitely aren’t.
